I'm so excited to be sharing another little piece of our trip to Key West with you all! David's aunt is currently living down there and so it was so nice to be able to stay and visit with her - she is quite the entertainer! Seriously, she is so much fun! She had so many fun things planned for us when we got down there and one of the things she planned was for us to go deep-sea fishing! I had never been but had always wanted to go and I can't think of a better place to go than in the keys where the water is a gorgeous shade of blue and is so clear! Anyway, while I was ecstatic about the opportunity to go...I was freaking out because I have heard horror stories about people getting out in the ocean, being tossed around by the waves and getting so sick that they wish they had never even stepped foot on the boat!! Of course I was scared that would happen to me and I didn't want to ruin the fishing trip for everyone by making them turn the boat around due to me throwing up my insides! So I prepared for the worst! I took dramamine (less drowsy formula) the night before along with some ginger root pills (ginger root helps in calming your stomach) and then I took both again when I woke up that next morning! I also brought both the dramamine and ginger root pills with me on the boat just in the event that I did get unbearably sick.. my plan was to take enough dramamine to knock me out for the duration of the trip. Thankfully though, I did't have any problems with sea-sickness while we were out on the boat! However, I am going to give some advice right here: Use the restroom before you get on the boat because once you get out there and have to go deep in the boat to use the bathroom, if you aren't already sea-sick, you will be! I was literally getting thrown against the walls while I was in there! There is no balance whatsoever!! Just trust me, don't attempt it. That was the only time I thought I was going to get sick and if I had been down there for any longer I probably would have been sick! Just giving you guys a heads up! (Thank me later!) Anyway, we had so much fun! We took bets on who would catch the biggest fish and David ended up taking that accomplishment! But, we only caught two fish that you could actually eat (2 mackerel) and one of them was the one I caught!!! The other fish we caught were Bonita's. They are very pretty fish but apparently you can't eat them because their meat is dark (or something like that.) Overall, we had a blast just being out in the deep relaxing on the boat in the sun and fishing! I could have spent the whole day out there! So, if you haven't ever been deep-sea fishing and are thinking about going...I say go for it!! Just be prepared because you never know how you will feel once you get out there and you don't want to waste a trip! Oh, and once we got back to the dock, the deckhand cleaned our mackerel for us and we were able to get up close and personal with a manatee!!! I was so happy! He/she was literally the cutest, fastest thing!! The deck hand said they usually come up to the harbor and wait for the boats to come in so they can get the remaining scraps from the fish being cleaned! We were able to get some pretty amazing go pro footage of the manatee and I will share that with you all once I get our video edited!! I am hoping to have that up pretty soon so subscribe and be sure to check it out as soon as I post it!! Hope you guys have had a great week!! If you have any questions for me, as always don't be shy and leave me a message in the comments section or email me directly! Love you all!!
