I'm one proud Republican and Cruz supporter!! Thankful to have been raised right! (get it?!!)
Happy Leap Day everyone! I hope you all had a great Monday! Before I start this post I just want to say some of you may disagree with what I have to say - and that's OK. Some of you may hate that I put up a post about this - and that's OK too. The fact of the matter is this is history, this is an event I got to be a part of, it is something I am passionate about and it is important to me and since this is my blog I will gladly write about whatever my heart desires. Whether you choose to read or not is up to you! Again, I'm really not being ugly, I'm just letting you know I am entitled to my opinion just as you are entitled to yours. I am simply stating why I am supporting and endorsing Senator Cruz for President. I am not bashing you or your opinions. I would love for you to read but if you don't want to guess what - you have that right and it's OK!
This Saturday night, Senator Ted Cruz made a quick stop here in Alabama for a short speaking engagement and rally. Of course I was dying to go so I went with my parents! (My sister went to Birmingham to see Rubio but we ran into her future roommate and her parents and had a blast hanging out with them!) We got there about an hour and a half before the event and we were one of the first 20 in line! The line seriously got so long as we waited! I loved seeing everyone with their "Choose Cruz" signs and t-shirts and car stickers. It's so fun coming together with people you don't know for a common purpose - to support the man we want to see be the next President of The United States of America!! I was seriously experiencing all the patriotic feels!
While waiting, I decided I wanted to go check and see if the line on the other side was as long as the one we were in and as I was walking here came these two stout guys wearing these thick vests that said "SWAT" on them. Yes, it was the SWAT team!! Obviously I made friends with the dog (it was a cute yellow lab). It was so cool watching the SWAT team bring the dog inside the building and have him literally smell every inch of where Senator Cruz would be! Obviously I know stuff like that happens all the time but seeing it in real life was pretty cool!
When we finally did get to go in, me and my friend, Anne, practically sprinted to the front to get good seats. SECOND ROW YA'LL...SECOND ROW!!! I was pretty proud!
Not long after that everyone starts screaming and cameras were flashing and we knew he had arrived! He made his way to the front of the room and let us know he was glad to be in Alabama! We all let him know we were honored to have him! He talked for roughly 30 minutes about the issues he would handle upon assuming office... (these are just a few) military funding, appointing a Supreme Court Justice that thoroughly knows in depth the constitution and protects our rights as citizens just as former Justice Scalia did, our country would openly support Israel, repeal common core, repeal Obama Care, build a wall at the border and up security there, etc.
If you guys don't know much about government or politics it's NOT too late to get informed! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE be an informed voter! and PLEASE exercise your right to vote! If you don't vote you have absolutely no right to complain after the election! You may think your vote doesn't matter but it does! Our country needs a revival. We need a godly leader who submits his power and authority to the almighty God and asks Him to direct the path of our nation! We have not had that the past 8 years. We have had the exact opposite. Which is why we are in the disaster we are in now. We need a man with wisdom, common sense, and a man who isn't afraid to stand up to our enemies and declare war if it is needed. We need a man who knows and respects our right to our constitutional rights!! That man is Senator Ted Cruz!!!
I hope you all have an amazing rest of your week and remember to CHOOSE CRUZ!!!
