It is quite common for people everywhere to view their pets as members of the family but here in the south, we tend to go one step further and build our homes around our dogs. In the 18th and 19th century, it was quite common here in the south to build homes referred to as "dogtrot" house. These homes were built with a large breezeway through the center of the house to keep its occupants cool by providing shade and catching the breeze but it also served as a common sleeping space for the family dogs. The small town in Alabama where I am from is full of these adorable houses. (I always found it so interesting to learn the history of these homes!)  Anyway, my point was we are serious about our dogs being included as members of the family and I wanted to find a durable yet stylish bed for Patton! One that could be placed on the front porch for him to soak in the sun and one that wouldn't look terribly out of place in the house! (You know those dog beds that just stick out like a sore thumb and ruin whatever aesthetic you were going for with your living room or bedroom decor?....Yeah, I've had those and it was high time for a change!) That's where my friend Rose at The Foggy Dog came in! I came across Rose's shop on Etsy and fell IN LOVE with her handcrafted (made right here in the good ole' USA) dog beds! Rose's eye for detail and quality makes these dog beds stand out from the crowd. She has some of the prettiest fabrics to choose from to ensure that it blends with whatever decor you have in your house! (Because who isn't tired of stashing the dog bed in the hallway closet when guests come over?!) Thanks to Rose's delightful designs you no longer have to! Patton has LOVED his bed. It's got great cushion to it and the fabric holds up in the washing machine when it's time to launder his linens! Be sure to check out Rose's Etsy shop - The Foggy Dog to order beds for your fur child! She also has tons of other cute items for your pets!

How amazing is this light decor in the center of the hotel? Seriously so pretty!

Hey loves! I hope you all had an amazing thanksgiving with your families and friends! I sure did! It's always so great to just be around all of the ones you love! (Eating delicious meals and desserts doesn't hurt either! ) But this time of the year can get crazy busy and overwhelming with holiday shopping, meeting work deadlines before the holidays, etc. It can be so fun yet exhausting at the same time. That is why I decided to take a break from it all and planned a quick get-away with one of my best friends down in Mobile, AL. We stayed at The Admiral Hotel and seriously had the best time! The staff were all so wonderful and accommodating. Probably the best part of staying at The Admiral is that you don't have to leave the Hotel to get an amazing dinner! Their restaurant, Launch, which is located on the first floor of the hotel is a hot-spot for locals to meet for cocktails and dinner after work. The restaurant is not too large that it loses its intimate appeal yet is big enough to hold large parties and gatherings - if you book in advance! Which I highly recommend that you do because our experience there was divine!  Another plus for me about the hotel, is that they have a small gym located on the first floor so I didn't have to take a break from my fitness routine just because I was on vacation! So, if you're burnt out from holiday stress and just need some time away by yourself or with your friends, consider taking a staycation with little or no travel at all! And if you're near the Mobile, Alabama area, I highly recommend staying at The Admiral! Our experience really was so great and I just know yours would be too!

Special thank you to The Admiral Hotel for hosting us!

Disclosure: I am not in any way being paid to promote any products from First Aid Beauty. The thoughts and opinions expressed in my post are entirely my own!

One of the things I HAVE to do before I go to bed each night is wash my face. I don't care how tired I am I make myself muster up the energy to go take my makeup off and wash my face. In high school, I was bad about being too lazy and just sleeping in my makeup but now that I know the aging effects sleeping in your makeup has on your skin I make sure to scrub it all off! I literally read somewhere that your skin ages 7 days by sleeping 1 night in makeup! Yikes! No one wants that! I'm ok with aging but I want to do it gracefully and while taking care of myself and my skin! I have been using several products from First Aid Beauty for several months now and I can tell you that I just love them! My skin feels fresh after cleaning and very well moisturized! Below I will include the links to the products that I use and what they do!

1. Milk Oil Conditioning Cleanser - This products helps remove stubborn makeup while cleansing and conditioning my skin! It is known to protect and boost the skin's moisture levels! So you get a good cleaning without stripping your face of the necessary oils and moisture that you need to help your skin stay healthy and supple!

2. Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser - I use this gel cleanser to detox, cleanse, and unclog my pores! This cleanser is great for oily, combination, or problem skin. I tend to have combination skin and this stuff works great for an every night and morning cleanser! It also contains red clay which is known for it's ability to draw out toxins and excess oil!

3. Facial Radiance Polish - This product won a "Best Beauty Buy" award in 2014 so you know it has to be good! This polish contains natural exfoliants to gently buff and polish skin to reveal a bright and healthy complexion! I typically use this 2-3 times per week to give my skin a good (not harsh) scrub!

4.Ultra Repair Hydra-Firm Sleeping Cream - I put this all over my face before I go to bed. This hydrator works while I sleep to smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve the appearance of my skin's firmness, and to replenish my skin with moisture! There are a lot of nightly face creams or moisturizers out there that can break the bank - this one doesn't!!

5. Eye Duty Triple Remedy Overnight Balm - This product is great for use on both the under eye area and the upper eye lid. It firms, smooths, and hydrates my entire eye area while I sleep! Helps tighten sagging eyelids and improves under eye circles! Thanks to genetics, I have inherited some dark circles under my eyes and I love that this helps me keep the dark circles in check!

I almost always do a good amount of research before putting anything on or into my body and made no exception with these products. First Aid Beauty is a reputable brand and their products contain good for you ingredients and do what they claim to do! I have known several other beauty bloggers to use them and love them as well! Hope you guys give some of these a try and that they work as well for you as they do for me! Are there any other First Aid Beauty products that I haven't tried and should?! What are your favorite First Aid Beauty products?
